Dolls and Puffs

So here’s my style report for the first quarter of 2021 and it’s all about babydoll dresses and puffed sleeves. Aye, puffed sleeves like The Bridgertons.

For the past three months, aside from puffs and dolls, tiered style dresses and linen swatches are a hit. So rounding up the fashion trends for January to March of 2021, here are some of the best collections I got to wear.

For a tropical country like the Philippines, the first quarter of the year is basically summer, so as the rest three quarters of 2021, lol! So it makes perfect sense why everyone here is crazy over puffed sleeves and flowy doll-tiered dresses on a February, not to mention Daphne Bridgerton really made an empire cut and puffed sleeve dresses so popular.

These pieces are from Let’s Stylize and Retail Therapy Cebu. I am fond of buying local brands from small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) especially during this time of the pandemic. ‘Support local’ as they say, and quality-wise, they are technically at par with other international fast-fashion brands like Forever21 and H&M.

I could just remember how I cringed at the sight of a puffed sleeve 8 years ago, now 50% of my clothes have puffs, oh the irony! And I think these trends are not going anywhere soon this 2021, let’s see how the fashion industry rolls for the rest of the year yes?

  1. Amazing Post!! I just loved all these outfits and thank you for sharing such valuable fashion tips. And I have found similar puffed sleeves outfits at the Zalora store at the best price. It was just amazing in lavender color and the best thing is I bought it with a good discount by using the Zalora Voucher code.
